About the Poet

Amy Tudor’s second collection of poetry, Studies in Extinction, was recently released by Aldrich Press.
Her first collection, A Book of Birds, won the Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry from Briery Creek Press in 2008.
She holds both a MFA in creative writing and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary humanities. She teaches creative writing and death studies at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky.

for the naughty without the nice,
for the constant transgression
when I could not transgress,
for that smoldering and irresistible
reminder that things exist below
the waist and that desire could be
such a wicked, magic thing,
for your light the color of amethysts
in that world of black & white.
