John Elsberg & The Light Of The Sun
About the Poet

Ron Androla is a poet living in Erie, Pennsylvania with his wife Ann. John Elsberg was an early supporter of Ron's work.

Some of Ron's early poems were published in Bogg, thanks to a generous, real correspondence with Mr. Elsberg in the 1970s & ’80s. Bogg also published one of Ron's first chapbooks, The Kiss.

John was not only an editor but also a poet, which proved an inspiration; John was a role model to Ron.

Spring 2015 ~
John Elsberg & The Light Of The Sun

I think of creeks, rivers, lakes, oceans,
Water as rain, puddles, dew at dawn.
John Elsberg's father was in the Navy.
I think of WW2 battle vessels breaking
The tops of white waves, of U-boats
Circling an oblong reflection of the Sun
On salty, sunset water. I think about John
& I remember mucky mud is as delicious as
A poem made from milk chocolate & a
Careful, caring mind.
