A statement from JoAnn Balingit about this edition of Delaware Poetry Review

"I'm delighted to share poems by poets with ties to the mid-Atlantic region, poets who have enriched their communities with their work on and off the page. In choosing work for this issue of the Delaware Poetry Review, I looked for words "excited as wetted yeast"--to borrow a line from Josiah Bancroft's "Bath Time." I looked for riveting geographies--internal geographies of love, regret, disdain, or meditative wonder; and physical geographies that take a reader from Mt. Kilimanjaro to the horse farms of the Eastern Shore to a coveted Sunday ride on Father's bicycle crossbar. For all of these poets, as Abby Millager says, "there are Worlds at stake."
